STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Layered Up For The Season

Style Advice of the Week

The greatest time of year is right around the corner. The first snowfall and sights of Christmas lights are not the only reasons for all the excitement, but also I must say clothes for this time of year may be my all-time favorite. Tights and boots and cool jackets and hats – how can you not love this season? Did I mention beanies (my very favorite accessory)? Well this Fashionista certainly got me on edge for it all. Her layering skills meet perfection as she looks super cool on a chilly afternoon.

I must be completely honest and say that this Fashionista’s hat is what caught my attention right away. If you do not already have the perfect hat for winter, have no fear because Brandy Melville exists. Beanies are the solution for the transition from fall to winter. They are also the answer for those days where you do not feel like dealing with your hair or are simply too late for class to do so. Brandy Melville has several different options to choose from. From the “Stay Weird” beanie to the “LA Bones” one, there is a hat to match just about every person’s personality. If you prefer a hat more similar to this Fashionista’s, then the NEFF beanie is the one for you.

The Fashionista’s wintery look also features a cool jacket very similar to this “Fancy Utility Jacket” from Forever 21. The jacket even features rhinestones on the shoulders to make you shine bright for the holidays. Any dark colored top underneath would go nicely, such as a gray turtleneck to keep you warm. I love how this Fashionista looks super cool and edgy, but also keeps things girly with her skirt and tights. A velvet circle skirt would be a smart choice for this time of year and will also help you to achieve a similar look. You will want to pair it will any black sheer tights just as the Fashionista does. She also wears black combat boots to finish out her look, and it doesn’t get much better than a pair of Dr. Martens. I would suggest adding a pair to your Christmas list if you don’t already have some.

This Fashionista’s look has to be one of my favorites for the coming of winter. She looks cozy, yet fashionable and ready for the holiday season. Her fashion essentials and layering skills are spot on. You will for sure want to follow her lead because ‘tis the season for layering up.
