STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Layer It

Now that it’s finally starting to feel like spring, Fashionistas can really show off their style without having to hide under heavy jackets. With that being said, having layers is always a great idea in New York City, as you never know when the wind is going to pick up or if the sun is going to come out from behind the clouds. By wearing multiple layers, not only will you be prepared for all types of weather, but you can show off multiple elements of your style.

This Fashionista’s outfit is the perfect example of successful layers. Her denim jacket will keep her warm against the Manhattan wind and can be worn with almost any look. It is hard to go wrong with a good denim jacket. If she gets too warm, she can just take off the jacket and rock her flannel shirt comfortably. This is also ideal for when you go out to eat, or even in class, because you don’t want to be sitting around in your jacket, but once air conditioners are on, you will probably want your arms covered when inside. Lastly, her classic white tank top will save her if it ends up being warmer than anticipated. How many times have you left your house in the morning super bundled up in clothes only to be sweating in them by noon? With this Fashionista’s layering technique, you will be good to go no matter what the temperature.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Because the weather this time of year can be so iffy, I like to wear a couple layers so I’m always comfortable. I love that I can finally wear this denim jacket and just adjust what I’m wearing accordingly.”
