Style Advice of the Week

This week’s style advice is to dye for—you’ll “see what I did there” in a moment. It’s all about making a statement with your hair. Oftentimes we stray away from changing our hairstyle or color. It has a lot to do with that scary word “change.” Although making an alteration to your hair is more permanent than just going out and buying a new outfit to wear, I believe it is important for every Fashionista/o to be comfortable with change. Fashion is constantly evolving. “Fashion’s not about looking back. It’s about looking forward,” Anna Wintour once stated. The queen bee could not be more correct. We shouldn’t worry about consistently looking like we did the year before or even the week before. Style is all about having fun, pushing the envelope and progressing.

The new trend in hair is pastel colors, and I could not be more obsessed. Green, pink and purple hair once graced the heads of the punks and was seen as a side effect of teenage angst. Who would have thought these hair colors would be making their way down runways in 2014? The soft blues, blushes and lavenders, although unnatural hair colors, look effortless on those brave enough to bleach their locks. This Fashionista fits into this category of the bold ones. Her lavender hair is the perfect accessory for any summer outfit.

She completes her ensemble with a black dress, gold necklace, canvas tote and blue velvet loafers. This outfit is simple, yet extremely chic. The neutral colors really make the amazing color of her hair stand out!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to make a change in your hair. Dye it crazy colors or cut it all off. We’re young. We need to have fun while we can!”
