STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Knits and Cords

Fall is here and so is fall style. It’s time to whip out the sweaters and boots and show off your best as the air gets crisp and the sun goes down earlier. I saw this Fashionista’s school girl chic look standing out during a recent gloomy day at Sacred Heart. The extremely non-gloomy autumn color palette and combination of the corduroy and cable knit materials work seamlessly together to create the ultimate fall look. It’s a sophisticated step up from the basic oversized cardigan, leggings and boots look that almost every other girl on campus wears.

Her flowy mini skirt is definitely on trend this season and her navy-hued sweater is classic and timeless.  Even her rain boots look stylish in this ensemble. The amber color of her skirt illuminates her unique hair, highlighting her natural beauty. This Fashionista sure knows how to put together a fall outfit and pull it off effortlessly!

If you want to easily recreate this look, invest in a short flowy skirt like this and pair it with any sweater and your favorite pair of ankle or rain boots. There are countless ways to rock this skirt trend in terms of fabrics. Try it in corduroy like she did here or suede with buttons down the front. Or be brave and go for the resurrected denim mini skirt style because, believe or not, it’s back.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “This fall, anything corduroy or suede is a definite go-to, especially with the whole ’70s trend that is really in this season.”
