It’s (mostly) always sunny in Philadelphia, but that doesn’t mean it’s always warm. Spring is a never-ending yo-yo between T-shirts and heavy jackets. The addition of Moore’s inconsistent studio temperatures makes getting dressed a guessing game where nobody wins. To counter these uncomfortable obstacles, pile on cozy layers. This Fashionista chose warm layers and her look is perfect for an early morning class or a meeting with her thesis advisor.
Layers are first and foremost about comfort, and comfort is about the fabrics. Since my normal foray into comfort involves leggings and oversized T-shirts, this Fashionista’s demonstration of professional comfort is needed. Like most great outfits, start with your favorite pair of jeans. I usually recommend dark jeans for a more sophisticated look, but in this case slightly faded and worn in is perfect. I’m obsessed with this tank top from Victoria’s Secret; wear it over a neon bandeau for a pop of color. Add a thin sweater like this gray style from Rebecca Taylor. It has a beautiful chunky texture but won’t overheat you. Add a long coat to your ensemble like this bell shaped style, and pair it with a bright blue scarf. End your look with these black wedge boots.
For more inspiration look for style icons that dress professionally and casually. Bloggers like Native Fox and Cupcakes and Cashmere are my favorite ladies for these looks. Additionally, CollegeFashionista’s own Amy Levin is a style icon of mine. Stalk her looks for inspiration for your internship style.
