STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Kick Some Class

Hey my fellow Fashionistas. Lil here again, but this week I want to talk about dressing for class! In college, it can be super tempting to just roll out of bed and put on the classic “sweatpants and a T-shirt” look but there’s so much more you can do. Dressing for success really is key and it’s important to take that into account when going to class. Here are some reasons and ways you can kick some class.

In college being a student is our main job. At your job you want to be successful, feel good and impress others. You can’t feel confident and preform well not showered in sweatpants in flip-flops. Of course everyday isn’t a heels and pencil skirt occasion but its important to put in some effort. If you feel good and look good you are definitely going to do better! Dressing for success is a real thing, in my experience looking a little nicer on test day does really make me feel better. Nobody wants to be walking around campus in his or her clothes from yesterday.  At school you want to put the best image of yourself out there so that everyone can know how amazing you are.

This Fashionisto always looks fantastic for class. He often rocks a simple button-down or polo with trousers. He always makes a statement with fun shoes or a watch for example. This Fashionisto’s honest looks so great and he gets way more positive attention. He is also more attentive in class and has been able to make relationships with his professors. When I asked him why he dresses up he said the following, “freshman year i would roll out of bed and didn’t shower, I didn’t feel productive at all. But now that i take the time to get ready and look halfway decent I feel like it’s a better representation of who I am and it shows my work ethic.”

Here are some quick tips to spice up your everyday lazy class outfits. First, non-athletic shorts are a quick dress up. Next, accessories go a long way. Three, layers are key, so you can be comfortable no matter the environment. And lastly, dresses are even easier, no need to match two pieces.
