Okay, I know I talk up prints all the time, but I think we can all agree that less can totally be more. Pairing simple solids together can create the same statement as a patterned piece, while using items you already have in your closet. And let’s be real, when wearing a bright pattern on campus, you are bound to get some attention, whether you want it or not. This Fashionista is showing us the perfect way to pair simple pieces while still keeping her ensemble on trend!
This Fashionista is rocking a pair of light green high-waisted skinny jeans. The shade of these trendy pants is the perfect pop of color for a summer day. The metal hardware on the jeans is a great addition to her simple look. Metal hardware is a great way to add details to a simple outfit when you want to keep your accessories to a minimum (not to mention the three buttons are absolutely adorable). On top, this Fashionista is wearing a lightweight, white tank top with a Peter Pan collar detail. The delicate detail at the top of her tank top takes the place of a statement necklace, while still adding to her overall look.
As for accessories, this Fashionista keeps with her simple look. As for jewelry, she has on a few rings and a practical watch. Her shoes are a great pair of neutral snakeskin loafers. On the tips of her shoes, there is metal detailing that matches the hardware on her jeans, keeping it cohesive. With a simple black rucksack and a gold headband, her outfit is complete.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You don’t always need a bunch of prints to look cute. I prefer to take simple solids and combine them. I think it’s always the most gratifying when several pieces come together to collectively make a statement, rather than your eye just gravitating to one piece. Neutrals can be fun too! And simpler pieces allow more playroom to throw in cute accessories.”
