This week let’s take a trip back to the ‘50s. That is exactly where this Fashionista’s style takes me. After encountering her downtown, I left with the biggest urge to travel to an old fashioned diner. But seriously, her style is simply cool, vintage and retro all in one. It’s a breath of fresh air as the outfit is unique and an eye catcher, and yet, this Fashionista is styling in some of the latest trends. She manages to pull this retro look together flawlessly.
Let’s start with one of the essentials to this Fashionista’s look. If you’re wanting to look as cool as she does then you are going to need a high-waisted skater skirt. It is a must. Topshop offers a variety of different shades of denim which is great. I have seen this blue washed one just about everywhere this season. The Fashionista tops the skirt off with a sleeveless denim button-down. Since fall is here, I would suggest a longsleeve button-down shirt to keep you warm. A pair of retro tie-dye jeans would also be a nice option for the cooler temperatures in order to achieve the same fabulous look. There are many different routes you can go with the vintage/retro style. For instance, nothing says vintage or retro more than this Antonio cap sleeve dress. It would make for an excellent choice, especially for this time of year.
One of my favorite parts of this Fashionista’s look would have to be her headscarf. It looks adorable styled with her messy bun and adds the final touch. A pair of round retro sunglasses would also make for a nice addition. For shoe choice, I would definitely follow the Fashionista’s lead and pick out a cute and simple pair of sneakers. Perhaps a pair of Keds would do the trick.
Once you put all the pieces together, you too will be looking retro and stylish in no time. So whether or not you do make a visit to the ‘50s diner, it is always fun to dress like that’s where you belong. This Fashionista certainly proves it to be true.
