STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep it Simple, But Make it POP!

Whether it’s concerning a sports car or a lipstick, one may argue that red is a key color for creating a statement. The myth, “Insurance for red cars is more expensive,” sprouted from the idea that red is attractive, and therefore, could pose as a distraction for other drivers. That same idea can be applied to an outfit. Wearing a bright color is always a perfect way to stand out.

The presence of this bright vintage inspired red dress contrasted against the black, open toed, strappy chunky heels, and a simple black purse undoubtedly stands out as the focal point of this look, making the dress POP! This Fashionista makes a cute red dress the centerpiece of a beautiful outfit with minimal accessories. She exudes class and sophistication without even trying. Upon further inspection, I did note another pop of color on her nails. The bright yellow nail polish is another way to play with color and serves as the perfect complement to her stylish look.

This is a perfect outfit for when you are going out with friends for a fancy dinner or hanging out with some important people. It won’t make you look too casual on these occasions. Instead, it gives people a good impression of you. I think there is something to be said about someone that can pull off a great outfit without over accessorizing. You can still be fashionable while keeping your look simple, just by adding a pop of color. Remember with fashion, less is more.

Style Advice 2.0: You can make this look work for the fall by adding a pair of tights, ankle boots and your favorite cardigan.
