STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep it Neutral

May 13th, 2015 at 2:00am

Although I am usually a sucker for bright spring colors and pastels, neutrals are not a bad idea for this season. I find that the perfect way to transition from the winter to the spring is with a few neutral garments in your closet. They are great addition to any Fashionistas/os wardrobe because I find that they are a middle ground between coats and summer dresses.

The best thing about neutrals is that they never go out of a style, and you can always find a place for them within any season. Whether that’s with a pair of black jeans in the winter or a crème cardigan in the spring, neutrals are a fun way to balance any ensemble. No matter the outfit, neutrals can always be incorporated.

I spotted this Fashionista on her way to class sporting the perfect spring, neutral look. She pairs her black sweater with a pair of olive green skinny jeans. I find that olive green is a great transitional color because it leans towards both seasons depending on how you style it. For example, if it’s a little warmer, you can swap the sweater for a light blouse. Her caramel cross-body bag and booties have a way of grounding the outfit and still keep a spring feel. This Fashionista rocks a casual yet boho look that kept her warm for those chilly spring mornings.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to spice things up with a pair of colored skinny jeans! Also, any season is a good season for neutrals!”
