STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep It Comfortable and Strut Your Stuff

We’re in the throes of summer in Boston and for many college students it’s a time for relaxation and getting together with friends. For the rest of us, it means getting down to business and dressing for our summer internships! Luckily, dressing nicely, one might even say “preppy,” is pretty darn fashionable.

I found this Fashionisto on his commute home from work. Casually carrying a weightlifting belt on his side, it was his patriotic red, white and blue Converse high-tops that caught my eye. The shock of colors accentuated the minimalist look of the rest of his outfit. To match his shoes, which hung from his shoulder, he wore a classic white button-down tucked into a pair of tan jeans. The look was completed with some dark brown suede boots, a black watch and a brown leather belt.

The clean simplicity of his look helped to make the ensemble seem more put together. By tucking in the shirt and rolling up the sleeves, the outfit exudes casual professionalism. Similarly, it’s the perfect outfit to complement with a fun statement piece like this Fashionisto’s patriotic workout shoes. Although it can be fun to mess around with some fun prints, you can’t go wrong with a crisp, white button down for your first day at the office!
