STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep It Casual

February 27th, 2015 at 2:00am

It seems like the weather isn’t getting any better in the East Coast. On some days there are snow storms and others the temperature doesn’t make it past 30 degrees. No worries, Fashionistas/os! There are only 25 days until spring! I know a lot of us are excited because it’s getting harder and harder to come up with outfit ideas for this unbearable weather. What’s a cool way to look chic and warm? Try casual neutrals and pops of color with your accessories.

This Fashionista kept her neck warm in a fashionable black turtleneck and a pair of black pants. These basic layers are easy to put on for a brisk day. She threw on a long, oversized camel coat. I love how she turned a coat that is usually worn dressed up into a casual coat. Her slip-on leather sneakers added another casual element to this look. She added an unexpected pop of color to this neutral outfit with a teal leather shopper bag. A shopper bag is a great way to store all of your books and personal items for a busy day of classes in the city. To protect her eyes from the bright sun, she threw on a pair of red sunglasses to add a cool factor to this casual look. This outfit is perfect for the Fashionista running late to class or running around doing errands.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Winter doesn’t have to be dreadful. Add color to a neutral look with your accessories. The colors are a reminder that spring is approaching!”
