STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: James Dean Daydream

Does everyone remember the Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears 2001 American Music Awards disaster? Then, now, future—that will never be a good look. But leave it up to this week’s Fashionisto to make everyone forgets that fashion faux pas and make us love denim on denim. This style has to be put together very carefully for it to work. Keep reading and you’ll become an expert, too.

The first piece of this Fashionisto’s outfit is his vintage jean jacket. Denim jackets are a true classic icon. Their most popular reign was among the ’60s hippie subculture. Then, through the ’70s and ’80s, they became staple items for punk and rockers. In 2015, this Fashionisto uses the jean jacket to pull off a hipster vibe. You can find jean jackets anywhere but they are popular among thrifts stores or in American Eagle Outfitters.

To match the jacket, this Fashionisto wore slim fit jeans with a light vintage wash. Jeans are such a classic item that every person in America most likely owns at LEAST one pair. You can find these comfy but flattering jeans at ASOS.

He kept it simple underneath all the denim by wearing a white T-shirt. Great idea! If he wore a pattern or a bright color that would throw the off the whole outfit and make it too overpowering. However, to add just a little color, cherry red Dr. Martens were the way to go. Dr. Martens are an iconic boot that just about everyone recognizes. They are known for their grunge style as well as their comfort and durability.
