STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Jackets And Jeans

March 25th, 2015 at 2:05am

Now that the weather is significantly warmer, it is time to put some more effort into your outfits again. You can still dress casually, just in a more polished way. The perfect easy pieces to fall back on are light jackets and jeans. Together, they create an effortless yet structured look.

First, you have to throw aside your beloved fleece leggings and get a good pair of spring jeans. I always love lighter-colored distressed jeans for warm weather, like this Fashionista’s skinny pair. You can of course never go wrong with a good pair of boyfriend jeans, though. Find ones that fit your body type and personality, and I promise you will live in them.

Next comes the jacket. By the look of the current forecast, it is finally time to stow away your Canada Goose or floor-length North Face down jacket for next winter. There are so many different types of light jackets for spring, and they are also cheaper than winter coats, so it can never hurt to have a few different ones to choose from. Whether it’s a quilted Barbour jacket, military-inspired anorak or printed bomber, layer in style this spring. Just throw on some booties, a purse and a blouse or T-shirt underneath, and you’ll be good to go.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You can never go wrong with a white top and jeans. It’s my main go-to. Adding a cute jacket is a perfect way to complete this look in the spring.”
