Whoever said “less is more” wasn’t lying when it comes to fashion. My STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK is to keep it simple. Use an exciting statement accessory to anchor your ensemble all while being sure that the rest of your outfit is keeping quiet.
I spotted this Fashionista and her Dior tweed bag from feet away as she made her way to class in style. This bag is the perfect piece to wear with any simple ensemble like this Fashionista’s, as we wouldn’t want anything to draw attention away from such a great accessory. The beige, white and gray tweed exterior adds texture and are three neutral tones that are sure to look great with just about anything. I also find the bright gold metal accents and patent leather strap are the great finish touch details to this designer bag.
As for this Fashionista’s outfit, she wears a knee-length all black wool coat with a fun tie-dye ombre crew neck. Oddly enough, I think that these two pieces go really well together. Her ombre pullover with subtle light pink and gray washes is a small burst of color under her simple wool coat. Together I think that these two pieces are perfectly paired with her statement bag.
Another element of this Fashionista’s ensemble that I find to be fabulous are her knee-high suede boots. Wearing knee-high boots is a cool way to try something new with your footwear and break away from any regular length riding boot. They have the ability to look fantastic with any textured skirt or structured dress and not to mention make any pair of legs look miles long.
Finally, this Fashionista wears a pair of textured tights underneath her knee-high riding boots to make her simple yet exciting look complete. Adding a little bit of sparkle, her tights have a gold sheen that can is repeated again in her Dior bag. I also love the way that they are able to peek through her boots and coat to show the right amount of leg.
Coco Chanel once gave women the most valuable fashion advice of all: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” So this week, think like this fashion icon and remember that less truly can be more. Keep it simple as you prepare for busy week of class.
