Whether they’re bullet proof or made of denim, the vest adds a unique twist to any outfit. Not to mention they are built for spring (there is an end to winter I promise). Besides keeping a Fashionisto warm, this frock also allows for his cool sweatshirt to be seen. Prada showed off their love for vests back in 2010 and it is time to bring the trend back. I am obsessed with this leather vest by Ermenegildo Zegna from Milan’s fashion week back in 2013. The lined stitching is similar to that of the Fashionisto’s. Both the runway attire and this featured vest include an edge that all leather adds to an outfit. I’ve narrowed down the three kinds of vest that will cater to any Fashionista/o.
The edgy vest wearer will want to invest in a leather vest. GUESS makes this amazing black leather vest for men and it’s on sale. The vest is faux leather which means it makes a man look like he has both a dangerous side and a sensitive side. For the Fashionistas take a look at this oversized leather jacket from ASOS. I love that the oversize length creates an instant runway look (seriously I have never seen this in public). Both vests are easy to throw on and pair with any outfit.
The classic vest wearer will want to invest in a denim vest. Levi’s carries this everyday trucker vest. The dark wash denim will make an outfit clean-cut and add a mature vibe. J.Crew makes this relaxed distressed denim vest. The vest is distressed enough to give an outfit a casual look, but not too distressed that it looks sloppy.
The last kind of vest wearer is the preppy vest wearer. Investing in an argyle print or a cable knit vest will guarantee the preppy look. For the Fashionistos, I am loving this sophisticated sweater vest by Paul Fredrick. For the Fashionistas, check out this fabulous cable knit sweater by Gap (on eBay). I love the black metallic shade of the vest.
There are a ton more vests out there to choose from. Make a vest your staple for this spring.
