STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Intricate Florals

March 20th, 2015 at 2:00am

The snow is melting, the weather is 50 degrees (which is “warm”), the sun is shining and this week, Chicagoans are finally divorcing their parkas and making new relationships with lighter outerwear and spring fashion.

The warmer weather has officially kickstarted spring trends in the midwest, and these Fashionistas/os are looking RAD! This semi-awkward transitional phase between winter and spring can be challenging despite the strong urges to bring back those platform sandals and mini crop tops so these transitional trends are key. One spring trend that’s always on the radar? Florals. Another trend that’s new on the radar? The comfortable, chic slouch. This Fashionista has her trends on-point.

A black layered oversized sweater, along with a burgundy oversized blazer keeps half of the ensemble simple and chic, allowing her floral print pants to speak for itself. The warm shades and pop of contrast is certainly eye-catching. These flourishing intricate prints have been seen at Louis Vuitton and Vera Wang and this Fashionista has fabulously and effortlessly incorporated these runway spectaculars into her own wardrobe.

This outfit is perfect for the transition into spring! Her warm floral shades along with these cutout booties; a perfect every day shoe that can be worn with either pants, a dress or a skirt. Although it is warm, let’s not forget about that chilly windchill; with or without the blazer this outfit is still sharp and complete.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: “I like transitional pieces like these that keep the wardrobe flexible and versatile. Blossom your wardrobe this spring with style and flare.”
