Style Advice of the Week

One of the best parts about spring is all the color blossoming around us. Flowers are blooming and blue skies are brightening up our days. Just like springtime flowers, floral patterns come in a wide variety. Florals are one of the biggest trends for this season and this Fashionista knows just how to wear it. She pairs her floral shorts with awesome ankle boots, which are a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe. They’re perfect for spring and will go with any floral you choose. Whether it be a floral dress or floral pants, booties like these are an investment worth making. She also mixes a couple of textures but keeps everything neutral except for the floral. This is the easiest way to wear the pattern, especially if you want to incorporate it into casual looks. These shorts can be easily dressed up with a pair of wedges and some statement jewelry so the nice thing about floral is that it can easily be taken from day to night.

As I said before, floral comes in so many options and the color palette in which this pattern comes in is endless. Some designs even incorporate contrasting patterns. One of my favorite brands that does this is Clover Canyon. They have so many surreal patterns in modern silhouettes. This dress mixes floral with stripes and checkers and I think it is perfect for the Fashionista who is always trying to push the envelope. With that being said, this is not an everyday, versatile look but pants like these can be worn for a nice day out to lunch or to class when you feel like putting on something bright. Pair them with a plain white shirt or tank and strappy sandals. If you’re not into the bright florals, this Topshop skirt is a perfect way to wear the pattern in a darker tone. This skirt can be styled similarly to how the featured Fashionista styled her shorts. A knit sweater and ankle boots are the way to go with this skirt.

Floral can be a bold choice but it’s not a pattern for everyone. There are ways to tie in this pattern that aren’t overwhelming but still stay true to the trend. This top is mainly solid but has hints of floral on the mesh insets. It can go with white pants or shorts. It’s almost like a basic piece so colorful shoes or a bright bag would make this top perfect for spring. Another way to wear floral is on your feet. This pair of slip-on sneakers mixes floral and studs to create a cool, casual pair of shoes that is subtle enough to pair with other colors. They have just the right amount of floral so they don’t have to be the focal point of the outfit. So Fashionistas, I hope this helps you find your favorite floral!
