STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ice Ice Baby

I’m sorry Mr. Punxsutawney Phil, but it looks like you were wrong about having an early spring. The winter weather has come super late this year. Mother Nature has suddenly decided to grace Northeast Ohio with below freezing temperatures and tons of snow—so now it is time to unpack all of your warmest clothes.

Monochromatic ensembles seem to be all the rage this season and this Fashionista seems to know that. The perfect thing about her outfit is that she can rock it whether she is spending the day at classes or in her dorm room. In today’s world, we are changing the saying of “more is more” to “less is more.” This specific ensemble is the perfect example to show how simple is good.

In the winter, the easiest way to warm up your favorite short sleeve shirts is to throw on some sort of cardigan or sweater. To create her look, this Fashionista simply took a plain black base T-shirt and gave it some sleeves by throwing on a very neutral patterned sweater. In order to keep her toes warm in the bitter cold, this Fashionista paired her outfit with some fur lined UGG boots. Throughout the years, the popularity of boots like these seemed to fade a bit, but this Fashionista is bringing them back in style.

Accessorizing a look like this is super easy and can be done in an instant. For someone who isn’t into wearing much jewelry, a simple geometric necklace is the perfect addition. Another way to accessorize this outfit is to add a chunky statement necklace and some stacked bracelets to match. Overall, outfits like this are perfect for freezing weather because you can be warm even without a coat on; but if you are planning on going outside, you can still throw your coat on and prepare to bear the tundra.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “No matter how simple, you can never go wrong with black. It’s the fiercest color out there.”
