STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: How To Be An All-Star On Campus

Rocking a cultural icon, starting from the bottom up is a common statement seen on the feet of girls around Washington. Who couldn’t love Converse? Whether trying to create an outfit for a girls night out or just trying to throw on something last minute, you can’t go wrong with slipping on your favorite Converse All-Stars!

Whoever said you can’t kick it old school? Adding a vintage touch can alter any modern look into a flash from the past. Fashion is constantly changing and new trends will be seen day and night but the Converse trend will always be universal. Starting from being an athletic shoe and morphing to a fashion statement, seen on the basketball floor to the streets of downtown Seattle, these lace-up tennis shoes can be worn for any occasion. You can pair these shoes with shorts, jeans, comfy sweater or a simple go-to sweatshirt.

This Fashionista chose to sport her all-white Converse All-Stars to school pairing with neutrals making the focal point her shoes. The rubber sole makes the trek to school for this Fashionista seem easier than before. The Converse were paired with blue Avedon Ankle Citizen jeans, cutting off right before the laces. Preparing for colder weather, this Fashionista added a black North Face coat and a black long sleeve V-neck shirt. Her other accessory is a heart necklace, showing others that simplicity can be fashionable.

Continually adding on new patterns and colors, these sneakers will never go out of style and during any season of the year.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “High-top vs low-tops; different days different look. High-tops should be worn when wanting to go out around town. Low-tops [should be] worn as an easy slip-on used for getting to class on time.”
