STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Hop To It

Is the weather finally having a breakthrough? I don’t want to jinx it, but I have a feeling that spring is closer than we think! The clouds are turning into sunshine, the snow is turning into puddles and bundled up layers are turning into fashion-forward outfits. When I spotted this Fashionista, I was inspired by her simple and super cute ensemble on this warmish day.

Starting from the bottom, her basic black booties are a perfect shoe for transition weather; they cover the foot but let the leg breathe. The chunky heel on the shoe gave just the right amount of chicness to this super cute look.

Her dark washed jeans were a perfect basic with this outfit and a nice break from the old faithful black legging that everyone, including myself, is currently wearing on the daily. I always love it when basic jeans are taken up just another notch when cuffed at the bottom.

The standout of this outfit is her black and white kangaroo patterned shirt. I love how the graphic top added a touch of whimsy to an otherwise basic outfit. Due to the top being more of a silk material as opposed to a typical jersey fabric, this chic factor increased on this outfit.

Since it was warmer out, this Fashionista opted for a long, cream-colored peacoat rather than the puffy parka that’s been the staple for the past couple months. The coat, which was worn open, added a touch of sophistication and polish.
