STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Holiday Tulle

January 1st, 2015 at 2:10am

The older I get, the more I realize why I actually enjoy the holiday season. Of course, I love getting together with family and eating the most delicious food, but I especially love the decorations on everything. And by decorations on everything, I mean on buildings and on people. The fact that people change into clothing specifically tailored for this time of the year is pretty fantastic. Some outfits include an ugly sweater, but some are too fabulous for words. So how could you not love holiday outfits? These outfits are not necessarily always the most fancy or the most expensive, however. It comes down to colors and fabrics and how they are paired up to create a look for whichever part of the holidays are being celebrated. ‘Tis the season to be festive, which means wearing reds, greens and fun material to celebrate! So when I spotted this week’s Fashionista going about her day in the most adorable tulle skirt, I had to catch her for CollegeFashionista.

Her skirt creates the festive and cheery look the holiday season needs. When paired with a cute and color-appropriate flannel, it makes for a perfect comfortable outfit. All she had to do was tuck in her flannel to show off the detail of her skirt, throw on a pair of ankle boots and she was on her merry way! To add to her Christmas cheer, she applies red lipstick and carries a clutch wallet, ensuring the feminine touch to her look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear whatever makes you feel confident and allows you to express yourself! Don’t restrict your wardrobe by allowing yourself to care what other think. Be happy, be pretty, be YOU!”
