Now that it is mid-April I am guessing you are excited to pull out all of your spring activities; bikes, skate boards, penny boards, roller blades and Frisbees. Admit it, you’ve thrown a Frisbee in your life at least once.
This is what brought me to this week’s Fashionisto. I desperately want a skateboard. Do I have time and/or patience to learn to ride a skateboard? I wish! I would be such a cool cat. Not only did this week’s Fashionisto catch my eye with his skater skills, but I was obsessed with his outfit. Major street style moment!
I’m actually in love with his whole look. He has a very cool look and is rocking it. What I am seriously obsessed with is his T-shirt. Way cool right? It gets better. The shirt he has was a band tee that he got at a concert and then he dyed it himself. DIY is seriously all the rage right now! I have been watching videos on YouTube on DIY ideas for shirts and outfits for this spring and summer. Let’s be realistic; if you are a college student, you are on a budget. Which means you probably should not be buying a completely new wardrobe each season. This is why DIY is super fun and, most importantly, it’s really easy too!
One of the easiest DIYs is what this week’s Fashionisto did. Tie dye! Grab one of your favorite white tees or one with a cool graphic and pick up a tie dye kit from your local craft store similar to this one. Have fun with it! If your tee has a colorful graphic on it, be creative with the color!
If you are not into the tie dye I suggest getting your ombre on. Another great DIY! I think it looks best with a tee that was a vivid solid color and then bleaching it to achieve the ombre look. Try using one of these tees for your DIY. You could also try using a denim or chambray shirt if you want another ombre look. H&M has a great shirt online that is perfect for that. If you have something similar in your closet, give it a try. If you have never done an ombre look, I suggest checking out this video for instructions!
