Style Advice of the Week

It’s officially the best time of the year—festival season! Well, it’s the best time of the year for the people who actually will attend these festivals. If I see one more picture of Coachella on my Instagram feed I am going to start hysterically crying from insane jealousy. The famous and the fabulous are attending these festivals while I am writing papers and worrying about my grades. I am not only envious of the artists that are performing but the festival fashion. Anything goes at these festivals. My favorite trend I have seen people wearing are their hats and hair accessories. From flower crowns to huge floppy hats, these accessories make any outfit interesting and fun.

For those of us who aren’t attending, why should we miss out on this fashion opportunity? This Fashionista is sporting a floral hat that would, without a doubt, be seen on the heads of many festival goers. When wearing hats, the key to pulling them off is simply confidence. As long as you don’t look like you are about to attend tea with the Queen of England, a hat is a simple accessory that can make your outfit pop.

This Fashionista completes her ensemble with a pair of high-waisted jeans, a black tank top and an amazing compass tattoo. She proves that your whole outfit does not need to look like you just stepped out of a concert. Keep it simple. Have a focal point and let the other pieces complement your outfit.

This week I urge you to bring out those hats. Pair one with a simpler ensemble to draw more attention to your stylish accessory.
