For many around the country, or at least those in the country that actually experience distinctive seasons, the coming of fall is a reason for grand excitement. The beautiful changing of the leaves, the seemingly endless supply of pumpkin-inspired desserts, the seasonal beverages, the various holidays and of course, the perfectly crisp weather that basically demands adorably cozy clothing. What’s not to love?
In terms of fall clothing, most people look forward to the comfort of oversized sweaters and snuggly scarves in warm colors such as cranberry, oatmeal and goldenrod. To me, in all honesty, that’s a little bland. It’s entirely too predictable and you’ll probably end up blending in to the beauty of the landscapes around you. Even worse, you may even be upstaged by the landscape! Are you really going to let some leaves show you up? Didn’t think so.
Be daring and take a different route for fall, especially while the vestiges of summer remain. Go bold. Go neon! But be sure to give balance to the look by pairing the neons with neutral colors just as this week’s Fashionista does. Her neon orange long sleeved crop top and her pleated skirt-like shorts with her funky high-top sneakers make the perfect fall transition outfit. The long sleeved crop top is perfect for those inevitable fluctuating weather days where it’s cool in the morning and evening but warm throughout the day. The neon orange is just a fresh take on a component of the typical fall color palette.
To bring this look into full-blown fall when the weather is permanently cool, try a long sleeved turtleneck crop top with high-waisted electric pants. This tip is incredibly useful because turtlenecks are making a comeback this season. If you are feeling incredibly daring, you may want to experiment with mixing a typical fall color with a neon.
