Style Advice of the Week

The weather is warming as it finally converts to summer after a harsh, and I mean harsh, winter. Not only does this mean the temperatures will be changing, but our styles will be as well. We can put away the dark colored outfits and transition into a livelier wardrobe. What better way to do this than with fun prints like camo, of course?

When thinking of camouflage, we tend to think either hunting or the military. While camouflage has the conventional use of helping one blend into the scene, this Fashionisto uses his camouflage T-shirt to stand out in a crowd. On a breezy summer day, I spotted this trendy Fashionisto, where he was neither hunting nor battling in combat, but simply taking a leisurely walk through campus. Looking cool in camo, I couldn’t help but capture this look.

This Fashionisto decided to pair his camouflage T-shirt with a pair of black denim jeans, allowing for the print to stand out even more. He also takes the look to the next level by accessorizing. His look includes a Fossil watch and a Toronto Blue Jays hat, in honor of baseball season.

I look at patterns such as cheetah print and camouflage as being a neutral. For a look inspired by this Fashionisto, don’t be afraid to pair camouflage with a colored pant. It will only help the look by adding that pop of color and more interest to the outfit. For those overwhelmingly hot summer days, try showing off the guns in a camouflage tank top. Pair it with any colored shorts and you have yourself an effortless look for the summer.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be so caught up on the patterns everyone is wearing, or how everyone else’s jeans/pants fit. Wear patterns that look good on you and be comfortable. If you don’t feel comfortable in your pants, you probably don’t look comfortable either.”
