STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Get In The Pink

Fashionistas/os across New England are celebrating the return of spring by thinking pink! The perfect antidote to the darker tones of winter, pink is popping up everywhere from headbands to heels. With knockout shades of rose, coral, hot pink, cotton candy and orchid, to name just a few, there’s a pink for every palette.

This Fashionista is putting her daily dose of pink front-and-center with a tickle-me pink fringed scarf draped over her basic white T-shirt. Add a pair of navy skinny jeans and a pair of Sperry Top-Siders slip-on sneakers, and she’s ready to go. To get herself even more in the mood for spring, this Fashionista has added a butterfly ring and a “lighthearted” pendant. For a dash of bling, she sports a Michael Kors sparkle-rimmed watch and double ear studs. The overall look is feminine, casual and put together.

A note to the uninitiated: even if you don’t normally gravitate toward pink, you can still get in on the fun with something as small as pink shoelaces, hair ties or lanyards. Remember, pink comes in many flavors, including pastels, jewel tones and deep tints, so you can match it to your skin coloring or the other pieces of your outfit. It’s truly not just for girly girls, and it’s a great way to welcome spring into your wardrobe.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Pink can stand on its own, or you can mix and match it with contrasting colors for a smashing look. I especially love pink with emerald green.”
