Style Advice of the Week

When the frigid weather strikes the Northeast you know it’s time to find the perfect jacket to keep you warm through the bitter winter. I like to invest my hard-earned cash in something more than just warm. In these subzero temps I plan to rock something that is going to make a statement.

This Fashionista was cruising on her longboard in one of the sickest jackets I’ve seen this semester. I’ve seen tan, brown and green but this camouflage army jacket takes the cake. She looks perfect in the earthy tones she paired with this jacket. Not many accessories are needed to further the look since the jacket itself is such a statement. A flower ring and brown leg warmers are subtle additions that finish off the G.I. Jane look without going too overboard while also adding a feminine touch. Blue jeans tucked into combat boots couldn’t be a better choice to pair with the jacket.

I originally thought camo was going to be a tacky trend and that it would dissipate quickly – boy was I wrong. The army pattern has slowly grown on me. It is simple to incorporate army-print into your wardrobe this winter.  If you already have your favorite winter jacket try throwing on a pair of these ripped jeans or flats from NASTY GAL. This Fashionista got her jacket from a store in Philadelphia that isn’t available online. But, if you’d like a similar one try this style from LuLu’s. Don’t be afraid to try something new this semester. You never know what trends will surprise you.
