Well, the week of warm(er) weather is over, and we are officially back to icy temperatures with a wind chill that will freeze your face off. Personally, I am one degree away from taking my comforter off of my bed and using it as an extra jacket. Unfortunately, wearing a comforter isn’t socially acceptable, but an oversized fur coat is so comfortable, it’s practically the same thing.
Our Fashionista braved the cold today in a vintage shearling coat. This is a great way to step away from the norm of puffy jackets while still staying warm. An oversized fur coat is a great layer because you can wear it with anything and you will feel like you are wearing a cloud. The big collar on this jacket is a great touch because it not only adds style, but it also keeps your neck warm. The fact that it narrows to the bottom also helps create a slimming effect and makes the coat look less bulky.
I love the way this Fashionista paired her fur coat with white jeans. Winter white is one of my favorite trends and was seen everywhere, from H&M to Proenza Schouler. I would say that white denim is definitely a year round staple that should be in everyone’s closet. These white jeans allow the red sweater to really standout. During the winter, I always forget about bright colors, so it is always nice to see a fun pop of color.
The perfect finishing touch to this outfit was the statement necklace. After all, when the jacket comes off, there should be something in an outfit that is still special. Chunky pears are always a great and really easy to find at stores like J.Crew. Wearing chunky necklaces over a solid-colored shirt is an easy way to look good without looking cluttered.
It can be hard to take the time and pick out a great outfit every morning and even harder when it feels like an arctic tundra outside. Having a great fur coat is an easy way to always look put together and still feel as warm as being in bed.
