Over the last few wintery weeks, I’ve struck up a pretty close relationship with my bed. We’re at the stage where we spend hours together and things are getting pretty cozy. But even though our love is strong, we still have to heartbreakingly separate every morning. And it is COLD outside the covers!
Okay, weird analogies aside, who else wishes you could just go about your daily activities in a portable bed? You too? I totally get it; in winter it becomes a big pain in the butt to get out of bed. And while onesies are cool, they’re not exactly everyday wear (yet, anyway). So, the next best thing is a fluffy fur lined coat!
Wearing a huge fur coat like this Fashionista is a great way to keep warm and it’ll feel like you never even left your doona at home. It’s just like taking your favourite movie-night-blanket out in public, only more socially acceptable! But Fashionistas and Fashionistos take note; wearing real animal fur is all sorts of wrong, so go for a fashion-friendly faux fur option. This Fashionista’s coat isn’t a full traditional fur coat and instead, is lined with faux fur along the fastenings and the hood – bonus for when it rains – for a super comfy fit. The best part about big fur coats is that they make the best layering items because you can wear a bunch of pieces underneath without your final outfit looking bulky. This Fashionista is wearing a white tee, a thick wool cardigan and then her coat, and she looks as snug as a bug in a rug hugging a mug of hot cocoa (sorry, just bustin’ a rhyme).
For a universally flattering fur coat, look for a duffle like this Fashionista’s that can be worn both during the day and at night. A coat in a neutral colour such as black, military green, or a silver-toned grey fur like this Fashionista’s will suit whatever colours you choose to wear underneath the coat. On a side note, I love that the fur on her coat matches her flat ankle boots. What a fabulously coordinated Fashionista!
