STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: From Class to (Workout) Class

April 20th, 2016 at 2:00am

We all have those days where we are too lazy to put on a nice, put-together outfit. To be honest, most of those days we don’t even have the motivation to put on pants. But we tell ourselves, “You’ll make it to the gym. No worries,” and slip on a pair of black leggings and an old high school T-shirt in hopes of making it to the elliptical after lecture. I have found myself doing this throughout the semester, and have mastered the trick. I am proud that it actually works, but embarrassed that I rarely ever feel cute doing it.

Alternatively, this Fashionista perfectly shows the balance of workout gear with casual, everyday clothing that keeps you nice and snuggly in class. Athleisure is in, and I couldn’t be more enveloped in all of the photos it has brought to social media. Gone are the days when you weren’t able to easily transition from acceptable class clothing to straight to gym time pieces.

This Fashionista is wearing very comfortable workout leggings with a cute, mesh siding that adds just the right amount of detail to the outfit. Pairing this with an oversized, knitted sweater is the perfect go-to outfit for any Fashionista on the run. Adidas has also had a huge influence on many millennials who want a trendy look without sacrificing comfort walking around campus as shown. The best part of the outfit is that your backpack is your biggest accessory. That’s right. The thing containing all those awful books can be pretty too. Depending on the amount of school work you have, you can opt for a durable backpack like this Fashionista, or try something smaller. Customize it by adding your own favorite pins or keychains. The only bad thing about this look is that now you have no excuse not to go to the gym!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “As a college student, my days are really busy, so I like being able to dress cute for class but still be ready to fit in a quick workout. I would suggest to find some key staple pieces that are still trendy, like the leggings I have on, and go around that.”
