STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Free the Shoulder

Brigitte Bardot and Natalie Wood proved that showing a little shoulder was effortlessly alluring in the ’50s, and it was about time for this trend to come back. Off-the-shoulder tops have been everything this season–they’ve almost saturated the market, popping up in every store, but we still can’t get enough of them. What makes this silhouette so great is that it flatters all body types which makes them the perfect additions to anyone’s closet. The off-the-shoulder top exposes the ever-so-delicate collarbones and shoulders to give off a romantic and sexy (but not overly sexy) feel.

So how do you style an off-the-shoulder top? This Fashionista decided to wear her white and navy blue gingham off-the-shoulder top with a pair of cuffed jeans and basic sandals. She accessorizes with a dainty gold bar necklace and her go-to pair of Ray-Ban Clubmasters. She styled her bangs to be side-swept and kept the rest of her hair down to frame her face and collarbones. She finishes the look with a pop of color on her lips. The flirty hue of her lipstick accentuates the romantic feel of the off the navy top–making the whole outfit look flirtatiously Parisian.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I try to have fun with everything I wear, whether it’s with exciting jewelry, or an original take on something that’s in right now. With the off-the-shoulder top I’m wearing, I had the option of getting it in black or this fun print–and I had to go with the print.”
