“Never really was just like a dream, was it the simple things that made me so crazy about you?”
The classic oldie Forget Me Nots by Patrice Rushen poses the recurring question everyone seems to repeatedly ponder and disregard without really coming to a conclusion. Is it really the small and simple things that make something remarkable? The Stonehenge, one of the known Seven Wonders of the World, is deemed one of the most impressive prehistoric monuments in the world. This European monument is merely the remains of a ring of standing stones that archeologists date back to 3000 B.C. Who would have thought a mass of ancient rocks would be known as an exquisite world wonder thousands of years later? Simplicity is beauty. This short and sweet cliché is absolutely true. We can apply it in many aspects of our lives, one of them being style.
When I caught myself admiring this Fashionista’s baggy denim dress, I was immediately interested in her style. She is another perfect example of a chic, yet simple street style. Her slouchy denim attire gives her look a carefree spirit that is just perfect for a breezy spring day. This bohemian piece hangs nicely and stops at perfect length. The looseness of the dress makes it comfortable while still looking fresh. The knotted tie around the waist adds shape to the oversized piece, accentuating this Fashionista’s tiny waist and sexy curves. She pairs her casual street dress with some stunning, light brown ankle boots. The caramel brown and light-washed denim are a great match. Her main accessory for this look is her large and in charge Y’s Yves Saint Laurent bag. It adds a chic ora to the casual composure and the metallic touch completes it. Overall, this girl is flaunting a beautifully casual springtime ensemble.
Fellow Fashionistas, my fashion advice for you this week is to make sure you add simplicity to your campus composure. Don’t forget, a handbag, a belt and a bracelet are all small accessories that make a big difference. Small and simple things really do turn something ordinary into something remarkable.
