STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Flower Power

Style Advice of the Week

There is no denying that floral is in. It’s no wonder why, the pattern looks great in the summer sun an is perfect to rock at a music festival. Floral patterns have been seen in stores and on the streets. Have you rocked this trend?

Inspiration for this trend comes from the ’70s. The decade of flower power was booming and floral clothing was seen everywhere. Floral made another appearance in the ’90s and it seems that now the print is in style again. You can certainly adapt this look to your own style, no matter what your look might be. This print comes in many different styles; dresses, skirts, shirts, shorts and high-waisted skirts and shorts as well.

So why is this print so popular? Looking at this Fashionista you can tell. Her high-waisted black, floral skirt defines her waist and looks super cute paired with her black tube top! Although this Fashionista is wearing black-on-black, you could also pair this skirt with a white top or even yellow one to compliment the center of the flowers. Also, if you are not afraid to show some extra skin, crop tops look great with anything high-waisted. The skirt is so versatile it can stay in your closet all year round (pair it with some stockings in the winter)! I believe this is one reason the floral trend is so popular. With hardly any restrictions of what it can be paired with and the wide variety of styles it can be found in, floral are a must have for the summertime.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Color! Whether that’s a shirt, bottom or piece of jewelry, make a part of your outfit pop with some color.”
