STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Florals and Pastels

A never ending trend we can constantly count on to get us through the spring season is floral prints. Nothing quite says spring like a field full of flowers or, as in this Fashionista’s case, a jacket that resembles one. The grass on campus is a color so green that many students can’t resist the urge to spend their time in between classes lying on the ground and soaking up the sun. There’s something about this time of year that makes everyone want to enjoy nature and the colorful scenery they missed all throughout winter. It’s no wonder people are reflecting this through their wardrobe.

This Fashionista found the perfect light jacket for the spring time that would make a stunning staple piece for any outfit. A jacket such as this one could easily make a normal T-shirt and jeans stand out from the crowd. For her outfit, this Fashionista paired it with a black skater dress that contrasts the pastel tones of the jacket. Incorporating a sporty element to her look, she adds pastel blue sneakers to tie together her laid back, yet chic look.

An outfit such as this one is so simple, yet looks well thought out and fashionable. Winter and fall outfits can be a bit time consuming, because layers upon layers of clothes must be coordinated to bring the outfit together. Spring and summer, on the other hand, means you can throw on a dress for the day and be done with it. Solid print dresses are an essential piece every Fashionista should have her closet, because they allow endless pairing options.

My favorite part of this look are the circular geometric sunglasses. No other jewelry was paired with this outfit and, thanks to the unique sunnies, it wasn’t needed. Not only are sunglasses a necessity throughout the brighter months of the year, but the unique shapes now offered are the best way to accessorize your look.
