STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Floral Whimsy

In the city of Seattle, when spring decides to show up early, the entire city freaks out. People who you never knew existed come out of winter hibernation, and the city feels electric. With a new season, new outfits are abundant as well. Spring seems to be a whimsical season of rebirth. Gorgeous colored cardigans, patterned tops and fresh kicks seem to crop up everywhere. If there is anyone who embodies this sense of spring most, it’s this Fashionista.

Immediately upon seeing this Fashionista, I noticed how vibrantly she was wearing this unique and whimsical look. It looked as though she had returned from an amazing adventure, not class. That beautiful sense of whim is accomplished by this Fashionista best through her floral asymmetrical top. I love the delicate pattern, and how the flowers look as though they’ve been painted onto the top. The floral top, when paired with a dark green cardigan and knee-high boots, grounds the look and provides the perfect amount of contrast between pastel and dark hues. She also adds touches of detail by accessorizing with several intricate rings. This outfit makes it clear that this Fashionista leaves a trail of wonder wherever she goes.

On a sweet, sunny day in Seattle, you really can’t go wrong wearing this outfit. The layers are just heavy enough to stay warm and light enough that you won’t roast. However, if the sky begins to grow dark and the typical Seattle grey returns, don’t fret! Simply layer a cute light brown trench over the outfit, and you’re set.
