STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Flannel Fridays

You have to admit it: that Monday motivation to get up early and have a runway ready outfit has far passed by the time Friday pulls in. Although lululemon’s spring 2015 collection is oh-so-tempting to wear to your classes towards the end of the week, this Fashionista presents some bigger and better ideas. Have you ever heard of “Flannel Fridays?” Well, as it sounds, it is the designated day of the week for flannels. This Fashionista shows us ways to turn comfort into cute as we roll into the weekend.

With a twist on the classic legging, as well as some A.J. Morgan reading glasses, can you really go wrong with a look like this? This Fashionista’s outfit has a number of accents to her look that not only complement each other perfectly, but they also take a spin on the modern day prepster. First, because we reside in the New England area, we can’t take off our coats until, well, practically June. For now, this Fashionista topped her look off with a classic Barbour jacket, a vest layered beneath and a lululemon infinity scarf.

Lastly, how can we forget about the staple piece of this unofficial holiday? The flannel. Although flannels are found at a number of different retail locations, this Fashionista’s was purchased at Madewell. Madewell definitely carries some of the best chambray and flannels in the game, and I’m not just saying that because I’m currently a stylist there!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Flannels are a girl’s best friend on the East Coast; they’re a way to stay warm while still looking cute. Also, L.L.Bean boots keep me warm while they protect me from the melted snow and ice. Overall, this outfit is a great ‘going to class’ look for the end of the week when comfort tends to be what is craved the most!”
