STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Falling for Fall Fashion

As the weather here in New England begins to get colder and the last bit of warmth we were holding on to leaves us, we are forced to bundle up a bit more. It is hard to make a statement when wearing layers upon layers with our main goal of trying to stay warm. The trees change and we are surrounded by falling red, yellow and orange leaves. It important to stand out among all these colors. One way to do so is by wearing colors other than the fall colors around us.

I found this one Fashionista on my way to class: she decided to dress up and bundle up. She wears jeans and a sorority T-shirt, with a small purple and white necklace and tall black boots that almost reach her knees. Half of the jacket is black and perfectly match her boots. The sleeves of the jacket add another color to her outfit that isn’t a fall color and really makes her outfit pop.

My favorite part of this outfit is the material the jacket is made of. It is made of a fake leather material that reminds me of fall. Everyone wears jeans and more so in the fall when people reluctantly slip away from their summer shorts. Jeans are perfect because they can make so many different statements. In this particular case, the tall black boots with the jeans, dress up the whole outfit and add more emphasis to the statement she is making. This outfit caught my eye because I have a jacket similar to it that I’ve never really worn, but this Fashionista gave me a whole new idea on how I can wear my jacket to make a statement.
