STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Faking It

When the winter winds blow and the snow starts to fall, many of us are tempted to throw on a puffy black jacket and head out the door. It’s all too easy to get lost in the cold, dark monotony that could be winter fashion. PSA to all you Fashionistas/os: You don’t have to succumb to this fate. Challenge yourselves this season. Winter brings a slew of new fashion trends to try. From chunky beanies to oversized scarves, winter fashion can be just as fun as spring, summer and fall. This winter season, faux fur coats are a must try trend.  With so many different shapes, sizes and colors, faux fur coats are a must-have to keep you warm when the weather is anything but that.

This Fashionista was seen on campus strutting around in an edgy leopard print, faux fur coat. She paired her trendy coat with a pink wrap top, cutoff shorts, tights, knee-high boots and a statement belt. Her oversized coat, boots and scarf kept her warm all day long. Fur coats have been seen on many runways including Marni, Elizabeth and James and Marc Jacobs during the fall/winter 2015 season. They are a major force in fashion and definitely here to stay.

Whether your style is edgy, girly, sporty or anything in between, there is a faux fur coat out there waiting for you. An oversized color-blocked faux fur coat will take an outfit from plain to effortlessly chic. Choose a leopard print faux fur coat and a pair of skinny jeans for a rock and roll look. For more of a bohemian vibe, try a faux fur vest over a flowy dress and a pair of ankle boots. No matter the type, faux fur coats will keep your winters warm and stylish.
