As a new resident of the East Village in Manhattan, I’ve been spending a considerable amount of my time exploring the thrift and vintage shops that are abundant in my neighborhood. I’ve recently come to find that some of my favorite and most prized fashion finds have come through secondhand stores.
This Fashionista backs me up on this. After inquiring about the origins of her ensemble, I learned that the beautifully printed pants that she’s sporting were acquired at a flea market in Europe. Same goes for the stunning, golden bib necklace that she pairs with the outfit.
The key is to know what you’re looking for. These breezy, patterned pants are very on trend at the moment (I’ve even posted about them before!) and were a lucky flea market find. Tapered just above the ankles and cinched at the waist, they are not just comfortable but cool enough to wear during the hot days of the summer as an alternative to jeans that would be much heavier. Urban Outfitters sells pairs of pants similar in structure, but if you really want a unique, on trend piece of bottom wear that you can take pride in acquiring, go check out a local vintage or thrift store and see what you can find!
She maintains the breezy vibe with an oversized, black crop tank and polishes the look with a bib necklace. The necklace is yet another lucky flea market find as it looks on point with the outfit and is currently on trend as well.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Being comfortable is the most important thing. And you don’t have to break the bank to get awesome clothing. Just get out and explore your local thrift stores.”
