STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ease Into Spring Break

Style Advice of the Week

Today officially marks the first day of week nine! First off, give yourself a pat on the back for making it through the hoards of midterms, papers and endless homework assignments thus far! We’re only three weeks away from spring break, and I’m sure you’re all just as excited as I am for the winter quarter to end. The ever increasing temperatures, longer days and rays of sunlight that have been creeping their way through the library windows have been such a tease while studying. Just like with senioritis, although the restless feeling has settled in, we still have to remember that there are still a few more weeks left to finish strong. What is the best way to cope? Incorporate bits and pieces of things that mentally bring you to that happy, sunny vacation spot!

I like to do this by swapping out pants for maxi skirts, incorporating more color into my wardrobe and wearing more fun prints, like this Fashionista. Her bold southwestern geometric print sweater caught my attention, and it was very reminiscent of classic summertime beach bumming style. It reminded me of how close spring break is coming, so I’ve decided to feature Fashionistas for the next couple weeks that are sporting something perfect for vacations.

While spring is quickly approaching, it’s still not quite hot enough to be sporting tank tops and shorts on campus. Incorporating this fun geometric print, this Fashionista slowly eases her way into spring trends by keeping her look monochromatic. If it’s still a bit chilly on your campus, start off with a shaggy, western print sweater like this Fashionista. On the other hand, if it’s starting to really heat up in your area, don’t hold back on the spring break wardrobe, and break out a pair of tribal print shorts (extra points for the cute pompom trim on these).

Just remember to not get too caught up with your spring break plans — finish the rest of the quarter off strong, and spring break will be that much more rewarding!
