Fall is just around the corner and hopefully this heat is on its way out. I can’t begin to describe how miserable it’s been walking to class in what feels like a sauna. Although it has been scorching almost everyday, there have been glimpses of autumn. Transitioning from summer weather to cooler temperatures can sometimes be tricky. The key is to incorporate pieces that work for both seasons.
This Fashionisto is wearing a flawless fall transitional outfit. His striped button-down won’t be too hot while he’s walking around campus. I have to say; this top is the best button-down I’ve seen in a while. That’s saying a lot, considering right now it is “fratty” season and preppy boys in these crisp staple shirts are roaming the streets of Columbia. What makes this Fashionisto’s top so great is the striped pattern. Usually, I am not a fan of horizontal and vertical stripes in one garment. But his is tasteful and completely unique. He looks fantastic as opposed to fratastic. Sorry to all guys who are currently in a fraternity, but to be honest, I’m tired of your Easter egg colored outfits. Take notes from this Fashionisto. Be different from the rest of the crowd and choose to wear a bolder ensemble.
He completes his outfit with dark-washed jeans, a pair of suede shoes, a belt and a leather backpack. I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to not try and take his backpack. He’s carrying his books with impeccable style and I couldn’t be more jealous.
This week, I’m talking to the boys. Fall is coming, make sure to invest in some great transitional pieces but also choose items that will make you stand out in a crowd. Be brave and confident with your fashion choices. Trust me, girls will take notice.
