STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dying For Tie Dye

As Coco Chanel put it, “The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you.” The best thing about tie-dye is that it blends multiple colors together to create a beautiful and unique statement that looks good on anyone. Tie-dye has recently made its way back on shelves for just about everything, from clothing to backpacks to tapestries. As part of the recent ’70s fashion revival, rocking some tie-dye is the perfect way to add some pizzazz to your wardrobe.

Tie-dye was brought to the US in the ’60s during the hippie movement—a youth movement that advocated psychedelic rock and protested the war in Vietnam. Hippies wanted a way to escape from the strict social norm of the ’50s and tie-dye was one way to express their free-spirited nature.

I spotted this Fashionista showing off this RAD pink and green tie-dye dress. Before seeing this dress, I would have never guessed that pink and green come together to create an appealing tie dye. However, the different hues blend so well and create a truly awesome ensemble. She added to this trendy look by sporting a pair of cool platform sandals, which add to her psychedelic vibe. Finally, she accessorized with a simple quartz necklace and a pair of Ray-Ban Erikas.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Anything goes with tie-dye. Don’t worry about everything matching perfectly. The greatest thing about tie dye is the free-spiritied vibe, so don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.”
