STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dressing Up Denim

Springtime in the South calls for country music, cowboy boots and most importantly, denim jackets. There are countless ways to style a classic jean jacket, and multiple styles and shades out there in the stores. This piece can be paired with bright dresses on a sunny day or a colored pant when it’s chillier out.

Denim jackets have existed in the fashion world for quite some time, and I honestly don’t think they will ever go out of style. They are versatile, comfortable and casual. This Fashionista is sporting a light wash denim jacket from Gap. The cuffed up sleeves on the jacket add a more casual vibe to her bright dress. Since the dress has a busy and bold chevron print, the denim jacket adds just the right balance for a simple spring outfit that will keep you warm on chillier days. Her silver Jack Roger sandals don’t draw the attention away from her fun outfit.

If light wash jackets aren’t your thing, dark wash denim jackets are also a great piece for the warmer months of the year. Pair the jacket with a black dress and wedges and you are ready for a night on the town. Comfort is key with this piece and it is one of the simplest ways to transform an outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear outfits that are casual and comfortable. When you are in and out of classes all day, you want to be wearing something that makes you feel good. Sundresses are easy to throw on and are great for layering with different types of jackets and cardigans.”
