STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dresses

As the temperatures drop, so does the desire for a lot of girls to wear pants. In their place we find many different varieties of dresses, ranging in length, pattern and material. It’s easy to get swept up in the warmth and sunshine that spring brings, but occasionally its harder to find an dress that fits your personality. But as is typical for the spring, most retailers will be selling their go-to style: the floral dress. But do floral dresses seem like something you wouldn’t wear? Take a look at how this Fashionista puts her own style to a spring classic.

What I love about the Fashionista’s outfit is how she takes something like a sweet and floral dress and adds toughness with her leather jacket. A lot of times as Fashionistas, it is easy to associate a certain pattern or trend with a type of style, like a floral print being very feminine and dainty. However, as you can see, it’s easy to make a springtime dress more your style by adding elements in your wardrobe that appeal to you most. For this Fashionista it was her jacket and boots, which made for a very cool look no matter what she had planned for the day ahead of her. She adds the finishing touches to her outfit by wearing cool boots that add the same vibe as the jacket to her outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “If you’re shopping and looking for a new hint of spring in your wardrobe, but feel that a floral print or dresses aren’t your thing, go for bright colors. Winter was the time for wearing your muted tones, so with the changing of the season, change your color palette as well!”
