STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dress for the Right Season

So spring has sprung here in Oxford, Mississippi and it is just beautiful. What you cannot see in pictures is the pollen attack that myself and everyone else are currently undergoing. Can you say watery eyes, trouble breathing, yellow everywhere, and constantly hearing “sniff sniff?!”

Back on track, how fab does this Fashionista look? The major trend in her outfit is that it is perfect for spring. The thin fabric, three quarter sleeves and bright blue colors scream spring without Miranda Presley having to say, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” When I see this dress, I immediately notice the cinched in waist. It accentuates her curves and adds a little flare by showing her figure.

Altthough the ’70s lace-up tie neckline is this season’s trend, I think it’s what makes this dress unique. Also on trend: tassels. Tassels are a love of mine as well and these tassels add to the fun pattern that this Fashionista rocks. Most people associate paisley with old people, or that scene from Sleepover with Jamie Lee Curtis and Alexa Vega wearing her mom’s paisley scarf, but I think paisley is making a comeback. With trends coming and going, the blue hues of paisley and lace-up detailing definitely stands out to me. Also, with the length of the dress being a little shorter, those legs are just getting prepared for summer shorts and a glowing tan.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Accessories bring an outfit together naturally and I try to collect classic, yet fun pieces that can work from outfit to outfit. To me, fashion is one of the little things that makes everyday life more fun.”
