STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dress for Comfort

July 1st, 2015 at 2:10am

Comfortability seems to be forgotten when there are so many new trends and events surfacing. We become more focused on what clothes we wear rather than how we feel while wearing them. The feeling that I’m referring to in this case isn’t that empowering surge of confidence we obtain from wearing a super cute outfit (don’t get me wrong, that is very important). Rather, I’m referring to the level of ease and snugness we get from wearing them. Yes, I’m talking about those shoes that blister your feet, that hat that makes you even more sweaty and even those pair of shorts that keep riding up. We wear them because, well, they’re in style and we look good in them, but this is the season where we can also add comfortability to our list of reasons.

This Fashionista chooses comfortability in a black T-shirt dress and white Converse sneakers. This is the perfect look for a day trip out to the city or the beach. I firmly believe that T-shirt dresses are this seasons must-have. It’s simple and versatile enough to be dressed up or down and also loose enough to be used as a cover-up— easily a go-to piece for any summer festivity.

Like this Fashionista, you can look great and feel great. Comfortability does not have to be sacrificed in the name of fashion. Pair this dress with sneakers or sandals and finish it all off with your favorite accessories of a fedora and a bag. You will be looking and feeling your best in no time.
