This summer has truly flown by. There are only a few more weeks until a new semester begins at the end of this month. With my birthday passing a few days ago, I left my teens and fell into my twenties. It got me thinking about wanting to try out new looks for my new age. It made me want to rock some of my favorite pop up trends from this summer. One thing I fell for was the knotted look. With a skirt, maxi dress or a T-shirt, a knot can put an edge to any look. Fashionistas everywhere are giving a little grunge to their outfits of the day and adding a knotted piece.
This week’s featured Fashionista had the fad on lockdown as she headed to a summer course. She rocked a cut-off T-shirt with a black and gray diamond design. She knotted the white tank in the middle and paired the top with high-waisted black leggings. I loved that she pulled out her leggings on this cooler day. Pairing tanks and pants is a perfect way to avoid the repetitive jean shorts look we all fall into during summer time. She added a pair of staple black studded sandals and a beaded simplistic bracelet. Her take on the trend was subtle and original. The knot in her tee kept her looking fashion forward and fun.
I also am obsessed with this trend because of how easy it is. You can go back in your closet and grab old big tanks you stopped wearing and add a knot to give it some sex appeal. DIY ideas are becoming all the rage. I love trends that put a new spin on pieces you already have. Check out this list of do-it-yourself looks featured on BuzzFeed. It really can give new life to some of your old stuff.
This trend really has been everywhere this summer. There are a bunch of cool ways to try out this craze. I know it sounds a little daring, but trust me don’t knock the idea of a knot! I obsess over the hippie inspired feel of a maxi piece and I love the edge a knot can give to it. Whether it be on your T-shirt, dress or skirt try out this trend. Add some flair to your fashion before the season ends and you miss out on the fun of it all!
