They say it’s a man’s world, but when it comes to fashion women generally have the well manicured upper hand. We have endless options and countless chances to wear different styles in every season. For men this can be a challenge especially in the summer months where it seems like the only thing they can do is just wear shorter pants and lighter shirts. Alas there is hope gentlemen, and this week’s Fashionisto will show you how its done.
Where to begin with everything that is right with this outfit? If we are starting from the top down, let’s go ahead and address how great the chambray shirt looks with the T-shirt underneath. This classic set up is given a twist when the neck of the T-shirt is somewhere between a boat neck and a crew neck. This simple combination with the heathered material makes what could have been a normal look a bit more spiced up. The denim on denim look is very in right now and with this particular shirt, the light wash with the elbow pads definitely stand out. Now when it comes to the shorts the tailored ends give the pants a much more polished look. Though wide shorts are a familiar trend amongst men’s summer fashion, the sleek look of the slim fit is also more fashionable. My favorite part of the entire look is the boots. Holy moly, if I could I would marry these boots in all their desert glory. If there is one area where men really have quite bit of flexibility to change the entire feel of an outfit. Had our Fashionisto worn regular Converse All-Stars or Vans, his look wouldn’t have had the edge it does now.
Since the boots will be warmer than regular tennis shoes, be sure that you pair them with a light shirt like this one. Make sure that the collar is a bit wider to continue the fashionable way your feet are headed. On top of that check out Gap for a chambray shirt that will give you the option of mixing and matching denim. For shorts check out these ones that are rolled up at the ends preventing you from looking too much like you’re on a hike or vacation. For the shoes (my favorite part) get yourself a nice durable pair of desert boots in a neutral color. Polish off the look with a nice watch and a leather satchel instead of a backpack that would disrupt all of the good work you’ve put in.
Overall I would rate the effort level with this outfit at about a four. All you need to do is have the right pieces and it will all fall into place. When beginning your summer collection of fashionable clothing, keep things neutral so that they are easier to pair together, from there you can always continue to push your limits and try new things. Just please go and get yourself some desert boots.
