STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Denim Up, Button-Down

Alright Fashionistos, this post is all about you! With it officially being fall, we can now pack away our summer attire and bring out some that’s more suitable for the dropping temperatures. In fashion things come and go, then they’re resurrected and come back for one more go at it: this time we’re talking about stovepipes. If you haven’t heard of them before, they’re a cigarette style or tapered jean that was popular in the ’60’s with celebrities like Elvis rocking them in the spotlight.

This Fashionisto has taken his favorite pair of jeans and rolled them up just slightly giving him that fashion-forward look. He matched these jeans with a light blue button-down shirt and added his go-to Sperry Top-Siders to add a little prep to his outfit. Now, this Fashionisto knows how important it is to accessorize, so he intensified the look with a maroon, snakeskin and silver watch to add a pop of color. The element that makes this outfit really stand out is how he took this whole look and added a pair of trendy black, square framed glasses giving his simple yet preppy look a vintage twist. Now, it’s an important part of life to take chances, so why not take a chance with this look and roll up those jeans for a seemingly effortless, yet modern-looking everyday outfit.

So now you may ask “where do I find such garments?” Don’t fret, you can find a pair of jeans similar to his right here and his simple light blue top here. The watch that this Fashionisto was sporting was similar to this Timex Weekender in a paisley pattern, which would stand out and look great with this attire.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When I look at my closet in the morning, I look for something with a good fit that’s also comfortable. I also like to layer things up so if I’m wearing a button-down in the morning, I’ll throw on a jacket so that if it gets hotter later in the day I can just take the jacket off.”
